We are pleased to announce that the collaboration with
World Priest (www.worldpriest.com)
whose long experience in running a worldwide Rosary event was so useful in launching the World Rosary Day, has been confirmed and solidified.
World Priest was founded by Marion Mulhall in 2003, in response to Pope John Paul’s 1995 announcement of a “World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests” to be held annually on the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Answering the appeal, Marion began promoting prayer groups for that particular mission, which gradually evolved into a Global Rosary Relay in 2009, to be celebrated on the June liturgical feast of the Sacred Heart.
It is therefore evident how ecclesially similar and spiritually close these two events are, since they both drew inspiration from the words of Popes and both are based on profound Marian veneration.
By partnering together, the two Marian apostolates will from this year provide the faithful with two worldwide prayer appointments, one in each semester: Global Rosary Relay every June, on the moving feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and World Rosary Day every 7th October, on the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.
While intimately linked, the two prayer events will however remain independent on the legal and administrative level, so that participants in either/both of them will have to register separately, in each respective website.
Yours truly,
Umberto Angeloni
